DOMINIQUE BERNAZ

Dominique Bernaz began his career at Bucherer, before joining one of Geneva’s leading diamond dealers – a move that included an eight-month stint in Antwerp. By 1986, Bernaz moved to New York to consolidate his proficiency in English by working for one of the major industry figures of the period, Robert Donofrio, head of Bulgari USA. He remained there until 1989 when he was asked to run the Bulgari boutique in Geneva.

In 1990, Bernaz was offered a position managing Vacheron Constantin’s Geneva boutique.

In mid-1995 Patek Philippe invited Dominique Bernaz to run its Geneva boutique, a position in which he remained for seven yearsIn 2002, Bernaz accepted an invitation from the CEO of Antiquorum, Osvaldo Patrizzi, to join the firm in the role of Deputy Chairman.

In 2006, Juan-Carlos Torres, former CEO of Vacheron Constantin, asked Dominique to lead Vacheron Constantin’s revival of its historical Ateliers Cabinotiers. This position provided an opportunity for Bernaz to bring the full measure of his vast expertise to bear in both the technical and aesthetic aspects of Technical and Precious Fine Watchmaking, complemented by his personal approach to clients and collectors.

Les Cabinotiers department perpetuates the distinctive spirit reminiscent of Geneva in the Age of Enlightenment. The Cabinotiers unique timepieces are born from special developments undertaken by accomplished watchmakers.

Dominique Bernaz led the creation of the exceptional Reference 57260, a unique timepiece conceived over a period of eight years by a team of three of the Maison’s Master Watchmakers. Made using the classic principles of watchmaking along with resolutely 21st century thinking, this watch is an entirely original creation exhibiting a total of 57 complications, several of which are entirely new and unique.
